Difference between liberty fighters and terrorists

Recently I've started a new book - "Ernesto Che Guevara/Bolivian Diary", which day by day describes his life fighting for Bolivian liberation. I started to think, what is a main difference between Guerrilla forces, Partisans and Terrorists. All of the underground groups claim to fight for a liberty of its country and use weapons to achieve their goal (usually over through it's corrupt governments). Nowadays would it be the guerillas called simply terrorists?

Even though there is no clear answer, I tend to think that the main difference (if there is such), between terrorists and liberty fighters, is a moral-code the groups apply and a strategy they use. In many cases what we see in Afghanistan, different underground groups don't fight for a liberty, but just try to create destabilize country and make money by doing different kinds of crimes (drugs, human trafficking and etc.) Another thing what differentiates terrorists from liberty fighters is a relationship to civilians. It's seems that terrorists don't care about civilians and they would easily sacrify them in order to frighten governments or to try to proof their point.
